Virgin Mary Sightings

I found this site while doing a google image search for "paneling". It's called Virgin Mary (again) "Imaginary sightings of the imaginary mother of an imaginary god-man". Categories include "New Sightings, Really Lame Sightings, Amazingly Dumb Sightings, Bonus Extra Sightings". One of my favorite entries is for the "Our Lady of Looks Like an Ordinary Potato".

The Kite Runner - on a serious note

The much anticipated release of The Kite Runner is delayed in order to get the young stars out of Kabul. Read the article in the NY Times.

Sexy Costumes

Ever noticed the prevalence of sexy costumes for Halloween? Just put the word "sexy" in front of any costume name and you have a winner. I challenge costume designers to surprise us. Here are some suggestions (and can someone tell me what makes a cat sexy and not a dog?)All Costumes from buycostumes.com.

I'm Not There

Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan: cool, David Cross as Alan Ginsberg: strange, very strange. Read about the movie

The Neon Museum

As you've probably guessed, we're back from Vegas (baby). What an exhausting place...not to mention, a den of temptations for a pregnant woman (not the best place to be with child) but I made it through. The best thing we did was visit The Boneyard, an historic collection of un-restored neon signs, just past the end of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. Appointments are necessary in order to take a tour but believe me, it's worth it. I suggest renting a car too. It's pretty far out there. Though you can take the bus, there are about 8 long blocks of walking (I think) past the closest bus stop. Apparently this forgotten (by tourists) section of Vegas is going to undergo a rejuvenation. In the near future, The Boneyard will be restoring some of their signs and placing them on the median near the museum. For now, I have to say, I really enjoyed the "rustic" quality of what they have, though I'm sure lighting some of those babies up will really bring them back to life. Michael took some great shots of The Boneyard.

Suzanis

I love suzanis. The ones shown above are offered on ebay, the chair is from Jayson Home & Garden. A bunch of other blogs/sites show some great suzanis. Here are a few: Style Court, Domino, absolutely beautiful things, Art of Living Online, Decor8 and desire to inspire.
