Me & Ro (and Weeds)
Watch Weeds? I'm watching it on DVD now (well, actually we're done with Season 2 and waiting for Season 3 to be done). In any case, it's a pretty good show. I love the variations of Little Boxes (you'll know what I mean if you watch it). If you're anything like me, you may have noticed Nancy's jewelry. I love it. I've just found out it's by Me & Ro. They've got great stuff though I couldn't afford to wear it in the layered fashion Nancy does.

BookSwim
OK, I'm not sure how I feel about this new company called BookSwim. Maybe it's good for people who can't or don't leave the house...or don't live near any "regular" libraries. BookSwim is like Netflix for books. You're not trading books with other people, you're just basically renting a book from their library. Now, their library has "Over 150,000 Titles"...the Boston Public Library has over 6 million. Neither charges late fees (as long as you renew - BPL people). I once belonged to a service like this, I can't remember what it was called but I do remember that their selection was not so great. They had a lot of mass market best sellers (kind of like a book of the month club) but not a lot of the really great stuff. I would imagine that with 150,00 (+ they say, 151,000?) titles, you're not going to see a lot of great literature. Also, BookSwim? Where does that name come from? I'm so judgmental.

Polly & Ben's Sherman Oaks Shangri-La
This house is AWESOME! I wish I had it in me to throw everything away, not buy little things in antique markets all the time and keep a spotless home. Oh well. I guess I have other strengths. For instance...um...I'll get back to you.

Etsy poster winners are in
I had the best of intentions to create my own Etsy poster however, time went by and I didn't. Well, I started one, it was all toys but oh well. So, here are two examples of cool ones. The top is from TillyBloom and the second, with the toys, is from 976-Diss. There are lots of cool posters to look at (zoom in on the images to see what Etsy shops they came from). Remember to visit our Etsy shop while you're there.

Matt Lorenz in Elle Decor
The September issue of Elle Decor arrived today with an article in it about Matt Lorenz (you know, that winner of Bravo's Top Design). I had expected an article in Elle Decor to come out a lot sooner and, I had hoped to see some examples of Matt's work, outside of the show. Unfortunately, the magazine only highlighted the loft he designed which, we all already saw. This made me wonder...so I checked out Matt's website. I had done this right after he won the show and it seems that he has not changed anything! I'm surprised by this. I know that interior design is a personal field but you would think, he would make some changes, especially with the magazine coming out. Perhaps he just doesn't need any more publicity. Track and Field Designs
OK, decor8 wrote about Track and Field Designs on Etsy so the last thing they probably need right now is someone else writing about them but...oh well, I like their stuff a lot too. I especially like the laptop bag with the typewriter on it and the packaging for the animal buttons. I don't think I'd take them off of the paper. Track and Field is a member of Hob Snobs who's website is sadly under construction (since last year?), I can't wait to see what the other work is like!
Oh and don't forget to check out our Etsy shop while you're visiting the site.

My childhood home goes on the market :(
At our joint engagement party in 2003 Joanna (my sister) and I (who of course, were not getting married to each other) spent the majority of our time in the downstairs bathroom crying because the house had been emptied and was rented to a family from Norway, or Sweden (or somewhere else). 3 Mt. Joy was supposed to have gone on the market that year but I guess the kids wouldn't stand for it so it remained rented until last month. Now, perhaps a little more emotionally distanced (I said perhaps) my parents have cleaned the place out and are trying to sell it. It was a wonderful place to grow up in.
Want to buy it? Here's the listing MLS #2725263.
